Running the till

Everything you do at the till, in plain words. New here? Read the first section — it is the whole job in 60 seconds.

The till in 60 seconds

You work on Sell → POS / Till.

To sell something:

  1. Tap the item, or type in Search products by name…, or tap Scan and scan the barcode.
  2. If a box with options opens: the normal choices are already ticked. Change them if the customer asks. Tap Add to cart — AED X.
  3. Repeat for every item. Use the and + buttons on a line to change quantity.
  4. Pick the Order type: Dine-in, Takeaway or Delivery.
  5. Tap Pay now AED X. Pick Cash, Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Other.
  6. Cash: tap a money chip or type what the customer gave you. The screen shows the Change. Press Enter to finish.

If the internet dies: keep selling. The till works offline and syncs itself. Never close the browser tab.

Start your shift

  1. Open Team → Shifts (or the shift panel on the till page).
  2. Tap Clock in.
  3. Count the cash in the drawer. Tap Set opening float and enter that amount.
No opening float = your end-of-day cash check cannot work. Do not skip it.

Adding items

The three ways to add an item:

  • Tap it. Categories are across the top. Tap a category, tap the item.
  • Search it. Type in Search products by name…. Results appear as you type.
  • Scan it. Tap Scan and use the camera, or just fire the barcode gun — the till listens all the time.

Item not on the menu? Tap Open item, type a name and a price. Use this rarely — it deducts no stock.

Items with options (size, milk, extras):

A picker opens by itself. The default choices are pre-ticked. The button at the bottom shows the live price: Add to cart — AED X. Tap it when done.

Weighed items (by kg):

The till asks for the weight in grams. Type what the scale shows. A weighed line has no − / + buttons. Each weighing is its own line. Second bag of olives = weigh again, new line.

Notes, parking and tables

Kitchen notes. Tap + Note under the line. Type the request (“no ice”, “extra hot”). It prints on the kitchen ticket and shows on the Kitchen screen.

Park and resume. Customer forgot their wallet: tap Park. The cart is saved and cleared. They come back: tap Park again, pick their sale from the list. Carry on.

Order type and tables. Pick Dine-in, Takeaway or Delivery under Order type. Dine-in shows a table picker. No tables set up yet? Counter service is fine — or a manager adds tables on the Tables page.

Loyalty — attach the customer

Tap the big Add customer button. Type their phone number (starts +971). Pick the match, or save them as new with a name.

Do this before paying so the sale counts for their points.

Taking payment

Send to kitchen vs Pay now:

  • Send to kitchen — food goes to the Kitchen screen now, money comes later. A green Sent chip appears with the order number.
  • Pay now AED X — take the money immediately. Use for takeaway coffee, retail, anything quick.

To take payment later on a sent order: find it on the Recent panel and tap ⚠ Collect payment.

The Take payment window:

  1. Pick the Method: Cash, Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Other. (The till remembers your last choice.)
  2. Cash: tap a quick amount chip or type into Cash tendered. The window shows Tendered and Change.
  3. Card / wallets: take the payment on the card terminal first, then you may type the slip number in Payment reference (optional).
  4. Press Enter or tap the Confirm — AED X button.

If the confirm button is grey, read the red line above it — usually the cash entered is too little.

Splitting the bill:

  1. In the Take payment window tap Splitting the bill? Tap here. Bina saves the order first, then takes each payment separately.
  2. Tap ½ or for an even split, or type the exact amount for this person.
  3. Confirm. The window shows what is still Remaining. Repeat until zero.

Each person can pay a different way — cash then card is fine.

Fixing mistakes

On a line in the cart: wrong quantity — use and +. Wrong item — remove the line. An Undo chip appears for a few seconds if you slip.

Refunds, voids, reprints (all on the order, not the cart):

Find the order on the Recent panel (right side) or the Orders page.

  • Print — prints the receipt again. The copy says *** REPRINT *** so nobody can claim it twice.
  • Refund — money back on a paid order. Full or part amount.
  • Void — cancel an unpaid/mistake order, with a reason.

If the button shows 🔒, you need a manager. They type their PIN — never learn or share anyone’s PIN.

Just paid and the print links are not there yet? The chip says ⚡ syncing — prints from Recent in ~2s. Wait two seconds, then print from Recent.

If the internet dies

No internet? Nothing changes for you. Keep selling — orders queue up and send themselves when the line returns. Do not close the tab, do not restart the machine.

End of your shift

On the Home page from 5 PM you will see 🌙 Closing up? Follow it in order:

  1. Settle open tickets — every order finished or voided (Orders page; managers can use Close stale tickets).
  2. Count the drawer & clock out — on your shift, tap Clock out. The cash-up asks what you counted, then tap Close shift. It shows Expected closing vs your count. Over or short is recorded — tell your manager, do not “fix” it.
  3. Run the Z-Report — usually the manager (Reports → Z-Report).
